What to do in such a case?
Before entering campus
All employees and students
Regular antigen testing program
All staff and students who work on campus daily (four days per week or more) are strongly encouraged to take an Antigen test once per week.
After returning from outside Okinawa
Whether vaccinated or not, a negative antigen test result (within 24 hours before campus entry) or negative PCR test result (within 72 hours before campus entry) is required before entering campus.
All visitors (non-commercial visitors, such as joint researchers)
Whether vaccinated or not, or whether from inside or outside Okinawa Prefecture, either one PCR test (within 72 hours before campus entry) or one antigen test (within 24 hours before campus entry) with a negative result is required before coming on campus. If a visitor has a fever or any other cold or flu-like symptoms, please do not enter campus. (see Visitors & vendors page)
All vendors, regardless of where they are from in/out of Okinawa, are required to record their own health checks for the last one week prior to entering OIST, and to report their health status to OIST using the Health Check Format (see Visitors & vendors page).
Some vendors’ staff may be required to be tested in addition to the health check. In that case, please follow the instructions from your OIST contact person.
* If you are not sure whether you are a visitor or a vendor, please proceed as a vendor.
