Research Technician/ Evolutionary Neurobiology Unit

  1. Molecular and cellular biology work (primer design/PCR/gene cloning/plasmid construction/ in situ hybridization/immunohistochemistry).
  2. Troubleshoot procedures and assist in implementing modifications.
  3. Assistance in managing laboratory chemical storage and small laboratory equipment.
  4. Additional responsibilities may periodically include biochemical experiments.




  1. Aplicants should have bachelor’s or master’s degree in the field of biology.
  2. Experience with molecular biology techniques.
  3. Excellent communication and organization skills.
  4. A willingness to learn new techniques and procedures.



  1. Experience and knowledge of cellular biology or biochemistry work.
  2. Ability to balance multiple requests and assignments.
  3. Capability of working within a project team to achieve results.
  4. Communication skills in English.


Full-time, fixed term appointment for 1 year with possibility of renewal. Contract initially with 3 months probationary period (inclusive).

Starting Date 

As early as possible

Working Hours 

9:00-17:30 (Discretionary)


In accordance with the OIST Employee Compensation Regulation.
