Physical/Analytic Chemist in Quantum Machines Unit
The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST; see www.oist.jp) is a dynamic new graduate university of science and technology in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The university is located on 85 hectares of protected forestland overlooking beautiful shoreline and coral reefs. Position summary:
The Quantum Machines Unit seeks to develop novel types of devices which brings together both the quantum and classical world. We perform both theoretical and experimental works and are seeking a physical/analytic chemist with experience in oil/surfactant chemistry with volumetric/serial dilution solution preparation expertise.
Location
Responsibilities
- Preparation of specific analytic/volumetric organic/inorganic solutions
- Preparation of solutions with specific surface tensions using surfactants
- Analysis of various properties of these solutions
Qualifications
(Required)
- PhD in Chemistry
- Experience in research in chemistry related to physical/analytic chemistry
- Experience in research in chemistry related to oil/surfactant chemistry
- Conversation level of English

Term & Working Hours
Full-time, fixed term appointment for 1 year. Contract initially with 3-month probationary period (inclusive). This contract may be renewed.
Working hours:
9:00-17:30 (Discretionary)
